The Government of Sint Maarten's Interoperability Platform

What is D2.2D?

The Interoperability Platform (D2.2D) is the digital front door connecting the people and businesses of Sint Maarten with the government registries that hold their official records.

Instead of visiting multiple government offices, providing the same information on separate forms and waiting in different queues, D2.2D enables users to sign in once using their digital identity (eID) and access connected government services through one secure platform.

The name reflects the platform's purpose: connecting government-to-citizen and government-to-business services through a digital, interoperable and joined-up platform — bringing information and services from multiple government registries together in one place.

What D2.2D Does

D2.2D currently connects citizens and businesses to six government services. Each service is verified in real time against the official government registry that holds the authoritative record.

National ID

Apply for, renew or check the status of your national identity record.

Issuance of Certificates

Request official certificates issued by the Civil Registry, including birth, marital status and related civil records.

Sole Proprietorship

Register, renew or manage a sole proprietorship business record.

Driver's License

Apply for or renew a driver's license.

Life Events Services

Submit notifications or request records related to key life events.

Address Change

Update your registered address across connected government records.

Behind the scenes, D2.2D securely exchanges data with the government registries responsible for these records. Where authorized, the platform uses the official and up-to-date source rather than maintaining a separate copy of the authoritative record.

How It Works

  1. Sign in once. Use your eID — the Government of Sint Maarten's digital identity — through Single Sign-On (SSO). One login gives you access to connected government services.
  2. Request a service. Choose the government service you need. Where applicable, D2.2D verifies your information directly against the responsible government registry in real time.
  3. Pay securely, where applicable. Applicable government service fees can be paid securely through the connected payment gateway. Payment processing is handled by the configured payment provider, and full payment card details are not stored by D2.2D.
  4. Receive your outcome. Certificates, confirmations and service updates can be delivered digitally, providing an electronic record and audit trail of the transaction.

D2.2D is connected to the Government of Sint Maarten's Digital Identity Platform, using the trusted eID and Single Sign-On foundation for participating government services.

Who's Behind D2.2D

D2.2D is delivered as part of the Government of Sint Maarten's Digital Government Transformation Project (DGTP), funded by the World Bank and governed by the National Recovery Programme Bureau (NRPB) and the Digital Leadership Team (DLT).

Together, these partners are working to build government services that are simpler to access, easier to use and as trustworthy online as they are in person.
