Buy the official examination card required before sitting the theoretical and practical driving examination in Sint Maarten.

The Exam Card is the first step of the Sint Maarten driving licence journey. It is issued by the Department of Traffic & Licensing and is valid for one examination cycle.

Once your card is issued you may schedule your theory examination, and after passing, your practical road test. The card must be presented at the examination centre together with your identity document.

You only pay once the Traffic & Licensing desk has verified your documents. A payment link appears on your dashboard and is valid for 14 days.

Provide digital copies of the following documents

Mandatory

  • Valid National ID or Passport

    Photo page, clearly readable, not expired.

  • Medical Certificate

    Issued by a registered physician within the last 6 months.

  • Recent Passport Photo

    White background, taken within the last 6 months, face fully visible.

Optional

  • Authorization Letter

    Required only when someone applies on your behalf.

  • Driving School Attestation

    Speeds up scheduling of the practical examination.

FAQ Driver's License

  • Any resident of Sint Maarten who is at least 17 years old, registered in the Civil Registry and holds a valid National ID or passport.

  • Three working days from submission, provided all documents are legible and the medical certificate is less than six months old.

  • Yes. A representative may apply using a signed authorization letter together with a copy of their own identity document.

  • A valid National ID or passport, a medical certificate issued within the last six months and a recent passport photo.

  • Yes, an application can be cancelled from your dashboard at any time before payment is completed. Paid fees are non-refundable once the card is issued.
