Marriage Registration
Plan, declare and register your marriage with the Civil Registry.
Give notice of your intended marriage and have the marriage recorded in the Sint Maarten Civil Registry.
Notice of an intended marriage must be given at least 14 days and no more than one year before the ceremony.
Both partners submit identity and civil-status documents. Documents issued abroad must be legalised or apostilled and, where relevant, translated.

The ceremony fee must be paid at least five working days before the ceremony date. Fees vary by venue and by day of the week.
Provide digital copies of the following documents
Mandatory
- Valid ID or Passport of Both Partners
Photo pages, not expired.
- Birth Certificate of Both Partners
Issued within the last 6 months; legalised if issued abroad.
- Certificate of Single Status
Proof that neither partner is currently married.
- Identity Documents of the Witnesses
Two to four witnesses, photo pages.
Optional
- Divorce or Death Certificate
Required when a previous marriage was dissolved.
- Prenuptial Agreement
Deed drawn up by a civil-law notary.
- Residence Permit
For partners who are not Dutch nationals.
