National ID
Apply for or renew your Sint Maarten national identity card.
Renew an existing National ID for an adult (18+) or a minor (0–17). Requires an approved New National ID application.
Renewals reuse your existing registry record; only changed details need to be updated.
The previous card must be handed in at collection.
- NAFL 45.00 (Adult) · NAFL 15.00 (Minor / Senior) · NAFL 47.50 (Lost ID)
The fee depends on the service recipient: NAFL 45.00 for adults, NAFL 15.00 for minors and seniors, and NAFL 47.50 for a lost identity card.
Provide digital copies of the following documents
Mandatory
- Valid Passport
Adult and Minor — photo page, clearly readable and not expired.
- Current Identification Card
Adult and Minor — both sides of the identity card being renewed.
- Declaration of Parental Consent (Minor only)
Only required when the service recipient is a Minor (0–17). Must be signed by the parent or legal guardian of the child.
Optional
- Resident Permit
Adult and Minor — required only if applicable to the service recipient.

FAQ National ID
Yes. An expired card can be renewed at any time, but you should do so promptly.
A new photo is required if the last one is older than five years.
Report the loss first; a replacement application applies instead of a renewal.
